Exclusive: Chloe Kim and Simone Biles Turned Into Superheroes!

From the US Women's National Team winning the 2015 World Cup to Simone Biles winning a third straight US national title to Breanna Stewart leading UConn to a third-straight national title, it's been a pretty super year for female athletes. And to celebrate their accomplishments and athleticism, espnW and Marvel Comics have teamed up to give these women the superhero treatment they've earned.

This morning, espnW announced its 2015 Impact25 list, which recognizes athletes and influencers who have made an impact on women in sports. Earning a spot on the list is in itself an honor. But this year, each impact player will also be illustrated as a comic book hero by some of Marvel's top talent.

"By merging this exceptional group of women with our mighty Marvel artists we are able to truly capture their super human feats in a program that brings together talent from on and off the field," says Sana Amanat, Marvel's Director of Content Development. “Like our powerful heroes, the Impact25 have made a remarkable impression on the world and this is our salute to them."

In November, espnW and Marvel kicked off the countdown to the Impact25 list with an illustration featuring USWNT star and World Cup Golden Ball winner Carli Lloyd teaming up with Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel. (That's the image at the top of this post.) And ahead of the reveal of the full list, we got our hands an exclusive first-look at two more drawings: 14-year-old snowboarding phenom and X Games gold medalist (and 2014 SportsKid of the Year finalist) Chloe Kim with full-on ice-making powers, and gymnast Simone Biles taking flight as she does whenever she's competing. (You can learn more about superstar-to-be and surefire 2016 Olympian Biles by picking up the December issue of SI Kids!)

The comic book versions of Kim and Biles are pretty awesome. Penciler RB Silva, inker Walden Wong, and colorist Rachelle Rosenberg created the Chloe Kim art, while Kevin Wada penciled and inked Biles.
