Atlanta Braves Give First Look at New Ballpark

Since 1997, the Atlanta Braves have played at Turner Field in downtown Atlanta. But despite the ballpark being only 17 years old, the team thought it was time for an upgrade. Before the season, the Braves announced they'd have a new home for 2017 — and that it would be located outside Atlanta in Cobb County.

Today, the team gave the world its first look at what it says will be a "state-of-the-art ballpark."

The Braves' new home field will be a "first of its kind," according to the team. It will be the centerpiece of a new development "that will simultaneously create a major sports venue and surrounding community, which will fit seamlessly together from the first pitch."

That all sounds fine, but let's focus on the good stuff: The new ballpark. Check out a few images of the concept art for the new Braves' field, and, for comparison's sake, a photo from Turner Field:

There's a lot more info on the Braves' website. The team has said that the final design could change before it's finalized. So if you like it, don't get too attached. And if you don't, well, it'll probably change. Let us know what you think of the design — and the plan to build a new ballpark only 20 years after the current one opened — in the comments section below!
