Boston Gets a LEGO World Series Trophy, Too



Check out what our friends at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Boston just sent us over: The Commissioner's Trophy, presented to the World Series champions, created entirely out of LEGOs!

The trophy was made by a LEGO Master Model Builder using 2,500 LEGO bricks. It weighs 9.75 pounds, and took more than 80 hours to build. How does that compare with the actual trophy? The hardware handed out after the World Series is created by Tiffany and Co. using more than 200 troy ounces of sterling silver and weighs 30 pounds.

The LEGOLAND trophy was commissioned in honor of the Red Sox 2013 World Series title. You can see it in person when the LEGOLAND Discovery Center Boston opens in May 2014. But while it waits for visitors, LEGOLAND staff took it out to Fenway for a victory lap:
