NBA Stars Get Bricked in C3’s Latest Hoops Sets
Want to recreate the biggest moments of the NBA postseason at home? Or maybe just imagine your favorite (non-playoff) team making a title run? Then you’ll want to check out the latest sets of basketball construction toys from C3 and The Bridge Direct.
If you’re new to the toys, they’re some of the best sports construction sets out there. The playsets are solidly made and pretty game-accurate. But the minifigures are the real stars. They’re way more articulated than other minifigs out there, allowing you to bend and pose heads, arms, elbows, hands, legs, and knees. And the likenesses are impressively true to life (or as true to life as you can get with minifigures.)
The C3 NBA sets launched in 2014, and the new additions hit stores this winter.
The Elite Edition Full Court Set ($39.99) is 393 pieces and lets you build the whole court. It also includes five exclusive minifigures — LeBron James, Dirk Nowitzki, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, and Kobe Bryant — so you can field an all-star game right out of the box.
But there are a bunch of other players you can add to your brick rosters, either through single-figure blind packs ($3.99) — there are 14 new minifigs to collect — or the Deluxe Collector Set ($39.99). That will get you 11 figures — from James Harden and Tim Duncan to PauGasol and a special throwback Steph Curry — as well as four extra basketballs.
Rounding out the new toys are one-on-one sets ($14.99) that come with two players and a half-court if you want to create some fantasy playground matchups.
If you’re a basketball fan, you should have these in your toy box. Not only are they super realistic (as far as construction toys go), the sets, pieces, and figures all work with other brick-building toys. So you can get really creative with what the court looks like and who your team faces.
