To the surprise of no one, the UConn women's basketball team won their fourth-straight NCAA title last night, beating Syracuse, 82–51. The Huskies jumped out to a 9–0 lead to start the game and never looked back. Senior Breanna Stewart predictably made history, winning her fourth-straight tournament Most Outstanding Player Award.

Next up for her is the WNBA draft next week, where she'll undoubtedly be going to Seattle with the first pick. Teammate Moriah Jefferson, who had 13 points in their title game rout, will likely go second to San Antonio.

Utley rule in action

After the Dodgers' Chase Utley broke then-Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada's leg on a hard slide in the playoffs last year, MLB instituted a rule meant to eliminate take-out slides on double plays. Last night the rule saw perhaps its first controversial call, as Jose Bautista casually hit Rays second baseman Logan Forsythe's ankle with his arm. Forsythe threw the ball away, but the umpires awarded the double play on replay, ending the game and the Blue Jays' rally.

Bautista slid into the bag and — as the Blue Jays would surely argue — was in no way a threat to injure Forsythe. Judge for yourself on the video below.
