NBA trade deadline recap

Despite the many big stars rumored to be on the block — Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol, and Blake Griffin — yesterday's NBA trade deadline didn't feature any particularly exciting deals. SI.com has grades for all the swaps that did happen, though.

The Blackhawks visit the White House

With three Stanley Cup championships in the past six years, the Blackhawks and President Barack Obama are well acquainted. They made their latest post-championship trip to the White House yesterday, and the commander-in-chief had jokes:

P.K. Subban on the trade block?

After coach Michel Therrien criticized him for a turnover that cost the Habs in overtime on Wednesday, P.K. Subban now finds himself the subject of trade speculation. The Habs' superstar has 44 points in 58 games this season and his $9 million cap hit is the highest of any defenseman in the NHL (he makes $7 million this season, and $11 million during the next two). While it seems unlikely Montreal will move him, if things heat up, he'd be the biggest name in play at the trade deadline (Feb. 29).
