An Update from Madison Keys!

Madison Keys SI Kids

After picking up her first career WTA singles win in June and advancing to the third round at Wimbledon, SI Kids correspondent Madison Keys returned to the United States. She’ll play in the U.S. Open this week. But before going to New York for that tournament, she had some fun at a couple other events. She explains:

This was in Washington D.C., just before the start of the Citi Open. We had a kids clinic before the tournament, and then I hosted the draw ceremony after. This was definitely the more fun part of that day. They had this group of kids who were part of an outreach program, and throughout the week they would show up at the tournament. They had the smaller courts for kids and they were playing on them. That little girl at the end was all about the ball!

This was in Cincinnati, at the Western & Southern Open in August. We went on suite visits around center court and the sponsor tents just outside. I caught my friend Taylor Townsend right before she was about to leave, and I dragged her with me because I didn't want to be alone. She wasn't super happy with me, but we made it fun. She was a good sport about it.
