Surfing Dogs and…a Fantasy Wizard Sighting?

Can you think of a better combination of words than “Surf Dog Competition”? Think about what that means. Dogs! On surf boards! Each year since 2006, the Loews Coronado Bay Resort Surf Dog Competition gathers close to 60 dogs to compete against each other at Imperial Beach in California. Each dog gets three runs and is judged on confidence level, length of ride, and overall ability to “grip it and rip it.”

Now we get to the mysterious part of this post. Last Friday, the Fantasy Wizard gathered up all the sploggers to tell us that he would be leaving town for a week. Where was he going? What would he be doing? Which robe would he be wearing? He would answer none of our questions.

Our splogger minds were racing with possibilities. Maybe he was heading out to cover the NBA playoffs. Or the NHL playoffs. Maybe he was off to do fantasy baseball research for his loyal readers. We were all so excited for him. Then, I took a closer look at the second picture below. Notice anything strange?

Shame on you Fantasy Wizard for not inviting the rest of us to your beach party.
