Meet the August SportsKids of the Month!
In each issue of Sports Illustrated Kids, we feature three kids who excel in sports, does well in school, and gives back to the community. These young athletes do it all — on and off the field! Meet this month’s SportsKids of the Month!
Easton Bagdon, 8
Grand Prairie, TX
Ice Hockey
Easton scored two hat tricks for the Arlington Ice Bandits in the first game of the Dallas Stars Top Shelf Tournament in February. The center finished with 16 goals in four tournament games.
Brycen Danner, 12
Nezperce, ID
Baseball
In May, Brycen threw a no-hitter with 17 strikeouts in the first game of the Nezperce Cal Ripken league season. The sixth-grader also had two hits and one RBI in the Lugnuts' 3-0 victory.
Garrett Henderson, 13
Medford, OR
Track & Field
Garrett sprang into the record book twice this year. In May, he shattered a 49-year-old long jump record at the SOMSAC district finals with a 19'2½" leap. Three weeks later, his 19'4" jump broke the Oregon Middle School Meet of Champions record.
