UNICEF Gives Kids the Power to Help Other Kids

Kids in Dallas, Boston, and New York are taking part in a program that does two cool things — gets them moving, and feeds malnourished kids around the world. The program is called UNICEF Kid Power, and it involves kids wearing wearable devices that count their steps. The more they move, the more food (in the form of nutritional food packets) gets delivered.

Mavericks star Tyson Chandler and Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings took part in a celebration of the event at Medrano Elementary in Dallas yesterday. As of Monday afternoon, the kids in the entire Dallas program had taken more than 195 million steps. That means nearly 16,000 food packets will be donated.
