Super Bowl XLVIII Week Day 4: Super Bowl Boulevard and Bruno Mars

Today, I started off my day by doing an interview for our NBC Affiliate back in Indianapolis, WTHR. We walked up and down Super Bowl Boulevard, which is actually part of Times Square that has been shut down for Super Bowl week. The streets are jam packed with Super Bowl events and activities like a Play 60 Challenge course and a Toboggan Run. There are also news sets for channels like FOX, CNN, and ESPN placed centrally in the middle of Super Bowl Boulevard.

After my interview, I travelled up to the Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater in Columbus Circle for the Pepsi Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Press Conference featuring none only than Bruno Mars.  I was one of about 10 reporters who got to ask him a question:

He was by far one of the most inspirational and encouraging people I have ever talked to.

Once the press conference was over, I went back to the Sheraton Times Square to the Media Center. We actually ran into someone I had previously interviewed in Indianapolis at Super Bowl XLVI, Don Crisman. Don has attended every Super Bowl ever played and was in town for this year’s game. We were able to catch up and take a side-by-side photo of us today and us two years ago.

But Don wasn't the only person we ran into. While at dinner across from the Sheraton, we realized after we ate that we knew the people sitting next us. It was Waldo, who I interviewed on Media Day! Except Waldo was a little harder to find this time — he was actually wearing normal clothes. So I guess I found Waldo twice!
