Some Trade Ideas Before the NFL's Tuesday Deadline

The NFL trade deadline is October 30th at 4:00 p.m. Last year’s deadline saw Jimmy Garoppolo go to the 49ers, Kelvin Benjamin join the Bills, and A.J. McCarron not head to Cleveland. (The Browns didn’t send in the paperwork fast enough, so the trade didn’t count.)

Yet again, the week leading up to the trade deadline could feature plenty of big trades. The Oakland Raiders already shipped starting wide receiver Amari Cooper off to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a first-round pick. Here’s a look at hypothetical trades we could see happen in some form in the next few days.

Eagles acquire WR DeVante Parker and a conditional 7th-round pick from Dolphins in exchange for a 5th-round pick
The Miami Dolphins are frustrated with wide receiver DeVante Parker, who hasn’t seen game action since Week 1. Meanwhile, the biggest piece the Eagles are lacking is another wide receiver. Miami receives a fifth-round draft pick, while the Eagles get Parker and a conditional seventh-round pick as insurance in case things don’t work out between Philly and Parker.

Titans acquire WR Kelvin Benjamin and a 5th-round pick from Bills in exchange for a 4th-round pick and a 7th-round pick
There was lots of hype for Buffalo Bills receiver Kelvin Benjamin following his trade from Carolina last year, but he hasn’t lived up to the expectations. Then there was the report he wouldn't practice routes before a game. With the Bills plummeting to the bottom of the NFL standings, there’s a strong chance they ship off some of their top assets, including Benjamin. One of the teams that would welcome Benjamin are the Tennessee Titans, who are in desperate need of reliable pass-catchers after a Week 1 injury to tight end Delanie Walker.

Jaguars acquire QB Tyrod Taylor, 6th-round pick from Browns in exchange for 5th-round pick
The Cleveland Browns quickly moved on from QB Tyrod Taylor earlier this season, benching him in favor of rookie Baker Mayfield, the new franchise quarterback. Instead of keeping Taylor on the bench all season long, the Browns should send him to the Jaguars, who need to give up on Blake Bortles. If the Browns throw in a sixth-round pick, they should have no problem receiving a fifth-rounder. Plus, the two teams have made a couple of trades with each other in the past year: The Jags got QB Cody Kessler from Cleveland during the offseason, and then pulled off a trade for Carlos Hyde in October.

Falcons acquire S Karl Joseph from Raiders in exchange for 6th-round pick, 7th-round pick
Entering the regular season, the Atlanta Falcons seemed playoff-bound. But just a few weeks in, the team lost both of their starting safeties, Keanu Neal and Ricardo Allen, to season-ending injuries. They'll need replacements if they're going to salvage their season. The Raiders have made it clear that they’re shopping Joseph, and it seems like the Falcons and Raiders should be able to reach an agreement prior to the deadline.

Patriots acquire LB Deone Bucannon, LB Haason Reddick from Cardinals in exchange for 5th-round pick
The Pats could use a linebacker and the Arizona Cardinals can help them out, with the team reportedly shopping linebacker Deone Bucannon. Some reports say the team could package Bucannon with a mid-round draft pick in exchange for a late-round draft pick, just so they don’t have to deal with his salary. There has also been speculation that linebacker Haason Reddick could be traded, so let's throw him into the deal as well. For Bucannon and Reddick, the Patriots should be able to get the deal done with a fifth-round draft pick.
