Phoenix Suns and Detroit Pistons Show Off New Looks

This week is a big one for teams to unveil their latest jerseys. The Tennessee Volunteers revealed their new alternative unis yesterday, and then later in the day the Phoenix Suns and Detroit Pistons gave fans a glimpse of their new on-court looks.

Let's start with the Suns. Sleeves! A handful of NCAA teams wear short-sleeved jerseys, but they only made it to the NBA last season when the Golden State Warriors wore them in a few games. Now Phoenix joins that club. Here's a closer look:

The other two jerseys — the home white with "Suns" written across the chest and the road purple with "Phoenix" on the front — will look familiar to NBA fans. But the new threads take some visual cues from the team's look from the 1990s. Back then, the Sun's jerseys featured a basketball rising like a sun across the front. That logo has returned, kind of — now, instead of a sun it's the player's number. Here's a comparison of the new jersey with the one from the '90s:

The Pistons also revealed a new jersey yesterday: A new alternate that has "Motor City" across the front instead of "Detroit" or "Pistons." The team revealed the new third jersey on its Instagram page:

According to the Pistons, the team will wear the Motor City jersey 10 times in the 2013-14 season. It'll make its first appearance on November 3 against the Celtics.

What do you think of the new jerseys? How do you think they'll look on the court. Let us know in the comments section!
