Klay Thompson Scores Record 37 Points in One Quarter!

So while you were all finalizing your plans to watch the NHL All-Star Game and NFL Pro Bowl (ahem), Golden State Warriors guard was making history. On Friday night, Thompson dropped an NBA-record 37 points in the third quarter against the Sacramento Kings en route to a 52-point night (which included 11 threes, tying a Warriors record). The Warriors would go on to win, of course, 126-101. The previous mark was 33, set in 1978 by George Gervin and match in 2008 by Carmelo Anthony. 

Everyone at Oracle Arena in Oakland, from the fans in the stands to the players on the court, were in awe of the Klay Thompson Show.

"I was one of the luckiest NBA players ever to play with Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, David Robinson and some of the greatest players ever," said Warriors coach Steve Kerr. "As many spectacular things as Michael did, which he did nightly, I never saw him do that."

For his part, Thompson seemed to be enjoying himself. But after the game said he wasn't really able to savor the moment. "It was kind of a blur," he said. "I wish I could go back and enjoy it some more, but moments like that go by really fast."
