Jason Kidd Annouces He's Retiring

After 19 seasons, 40-year-old guard Jason Kidd is calling it a career.

The New York Knicks announced his decision on Twitter. They also tweeted out a statement from Kidd: "My time in professional basketball has been an incredible journey, but one that must come to an end after 19 years."

Kidd broke into the league with the Dallas Mavericks in 1994. He would go on to play for the Phoenix Suns, New Jersey Nets, and the Knicks. Kidd was a 10-time all-star who was part of the Dallas team that won the NBA Championship in 2011. He won two Olympic gold medals with Team USA, and shared Rookie of the Year honors in 1995 with Grant Hill. He finishes his career with 12,091 assists, second most in NBA history, 8725 rebounds, and 17,529 points.
