First Look: 2016 NBA All-Star Game Gear

We’re still more than two months away from the NBA All-Star Game in Toronto, but Adidas has given us a look at what the players will wear when they hit the court on February 14.

The East and West uniform kits were designed based on elements found in Toronto’s city, history, and culture. Both jerseys feature the NBA logo inside a maple leaf, as well as the city skyline along the back shoulders. The star on the short has the Raptors’ iconic claw mark, while the fonts on the jersey are a throwback to the first NBA game — which was played in Toronto nearly 70 years ago (the Toronto Huskies hosted the New York Knicks on Nov. 1, 1946).

“This is the first NBA All-Star Game to be played outside the United States, and it is a very exciting time for basketball in Canada,” said Chris Grancio, Adidas global basketball general manager. “To honor this global celebration and pay tribute to Toronto – the site of the NBA’s first game – we’ve incorporated design elements that are inspired by the city’s basketball history, sports culture and unique fashion scene to make an All-Star collection that players and fans will love.”

The warmup sweats will also highlight each player’s individual accomplishments. Right sleeve patches call out how many all-star games he has played in, as well as any MVP, Rookie of the Year, and All-Star MVP awards and championships he has won.

Here’s a closer look at the jerseys and those accolade patches:
