Andrew Wiggins: HS Basketball Phenom Picks Kansas Jayhawks

College hoops fans--all hoops fans, really--held their breath this morning as they awaited Andrew Wiggins' decision on where he'd play college basketball in the fall. Well, Wiggins will be a Jayhawk, selecting Lawrence, Kansas as his new home and Bill Self as his new coach. He had narrowed his picks down to Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina and Florida State, where his parents went to school (his dad played pro basketball ball and his mom was a sprinter who competed in the 1984 and 1988 Olympic games).

Why were people so excited about the 6'8" forward from Toronto, Canada? Well, first of all, watch the mixtape above and you'll see his amazing athleticism and deadly spin move. He destroyed ankles for his high school, Huntington Prep (West Virginia), averaging 23.4 points and 11.2 rebounds. He was National Player Of the Year and will likely be the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft in 2014 if he fulfills his potential at Kansas.
