Get a KICK Out of Soccer Season with Topps App
Back in March, we told you about the BUNT app from Topps, which lets collect digital baseball cards. Well today, the company has launched something similar, but for football… er, soccer.
Topps KICK 15, a free app for iOS and Android devices, lets you collect cards featuring more than 1,000 players from 57 clubs in the Barclays Premier League, Bundesliga, and Major League Soccer. You then use those cards to build the ultimate football team to compete with fans in other parts of the world.
What's especially cool about KICK is that its Flow of the Game scoring feature. Stats for the players updates in real time, allowing you to keep track of how your KICK team is doing as games are being played. So if a player in your collection is doing better than one you've played, you can substitute them as the game goes on. This introduces a bit of strategy into the app, and if you want to be at the top of the leaderboard you'll have to play smart — just like a real footballer. But the app helps you out by letting you follow your team in the Match Center.
Things get a little crazy with the Mega-Deal Transfer Market. Just like BUNT, you can trade cards in KICK with other users. But in this app, you can deal up to 18 players in one deal. That's a crazy amount of cards to swap at once! But there are a lot of cards to be had in the app. KICK launches with five base cards per player, and each card will earn you a different number of points based on how rare it is. And of course there are limited-edition cards and inserts.
