Scwinn CycleNav: Your Bike's First GPS

The weather’s getting warmer, which means it’s time to get back out on your bike! And if you plan on riding to some new areas this summer, you should check out the SchwinnCycleNav. The compact GPS device – the first of its kind for bikes – will get you anywhere you want to go with the help of turn-by-turn voice directions and arrows that light up to guide you.

The CycleNav is easy to set up — you can quickly mount it on your handlebars — and easy to use. First install the CycleNav app on your iOS or Android phone, link the devices through a Bluetooth connection, and begin your trip by searching for your destination. Since the app and device are connected wirelessly, you won’t have to worry about holding on to your phone while concentrating on your biking.

The app provides three bike-friendly routes for you to choose from. You can get specifics on each route, like how many miles it will be, and even how many elevation changes you might experience on the way. The app also saves the routes you take, so if you bike to the same place often, you won’t have to search for that destination again time after time.

After you select your route, the GPS will provide voice directions to tell you when to turn. Along with the audio, one of the corresponding arrows will light up to tell you which way to turn. If you miss a direction, you can press a button on the GPS that repeats it.

The GPS also has an LED light, so you can make sure you’re biking safely.

Once you reach your destination, the app provides a trip report, which tells you how long your trip took, how far you biked, and how many calories you burned. If you want to show off your skills, you can post these results to social media. You can also compete with other CycleNav users by posting your biking stats to the MapMyRide feature.

The CycleNav retails for $59.99 and can be found in the bikes section of your local Walmart
