You Say Red Sox, I Say Special Edition Mr. Potato Heads
Right now, the Red Sox are one game away from winning the World Series. But no matter who comes out as champions, Boston's band of baseball beardos are already winners — they've been immortalized as Mr. Potato Heads!
On Friday, Hasbro and the Red Sox Foundation unveiled limited edition plastic spuds that capture the tuber essence of six Sox heroes: Dustin Pedroia, David Ortiz, Jonny Gomes, Mike Napoli, Shane Victorino, and Jarrod Saltalamacchia. The toys were custom-made by Hasbro designers to capture the essence of each player through their beard. Gomes' Ironsides is here. So is Napoli's Siesta and Ortiz' Tease. (The designers even got the iconic gap in Ortiz's teeth!) Victorino's Pineapple? Saltalamacchia's Saltine? Check and check.

These unique collectibles are mounted on individual wood bases that identify the potato player and are signed by their real-life counterparts. But before you make room in your burlap sacks for these guys, be warned: They're going to be tough to get. Only four sets have been made, and three of them will be auctioned off for charity. Two sets are being sold right now to benefit the Red Sox Foundation, and a third will support Hasbro Children's Hospital at Rhode Island Hospital.
