Here at the new SIKids.com, we're launching all sorts of new features, including Afterschool Special, a round-up of everything you might have missed while in class. Ironically, our first edition comes on a day that many of you are home for a snow day! Even better. Even if you don't have a singing superintendent to entertain you on your day off, you can still enjoy these sotries and videos.

Justice is served...with cheese?

After speculation that his trade to the Montreal Canadiens and minor league demotion would make him inelligible for the All-Star game, John Scott will still be a captain at the NHL All-Star game in Nashville at the end of the month. Scott, a fighter who was voted into the game by fans as a joke, had previously been asked to bow out of the game, according to reports. After fan backlash following the trade, however, the NHL did the right thing. It's good thing too, as Scott already had T-shirts made to commemorate his captaincy.

Now Scott gets to go to Nashville and enjoy a cascading fountain of Velveeta cheese. Really!

Highlight of the night

Russ slams down.

Kobe, LeBron, and now Kristaps

The NBA announced the best-selling jerseys from the past year (Oct. 2014–Dec. 2015). Coming in at the top three spots are Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant — no surprises there. The big news is who made #4: Knicks rookie Kristaps Porzingis. The surprise sensation has 16 double doubles this season, averaging 14 points and 8 rebounds per game with a steadily improving three-point shot.

Good guy of the day

Hats off to tennis player Jo-Wilfried Tsonga for his behavior at the Australian Open today. When the French native noticed something wasn't right with the ball girl on his side of the court, he checked on her, only to realize she was upset after being struck in the face with the ball. He helped her off playing surface, drawing applause from the crowd. He then went on to win the match.

Meeting her favorite player

Watch Susanna Ng, owner of New Town Bakery & Restaurant in Vancouver react when her favorite hockey player, Alex Burrows, walks in.

Old lady of the day

She does not care about your soccer game. She has places to be.
