The Oklahoma City Thunder and Russell Westbrook agreed to a contract extension that will keep the star point guard in OKC for at least another three years. The deal, worth $86 million, was a crucial move for the Thunder after losing Kevin Durant in free agency. Now the Thunder can focus on building around Westbrook, who's as poised as ever to have an MVP season without KD to share the ball with:

USWNT cruises in first Olympic match

The USWNT won 2-0 over New Zealand last night in its first group-stage match of the Rio Olympics. Veteran Carli Lloyd started the scoring with a header in the ninth minute, then Alex Morgan squeaked this goal in to cap the win:
