In Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals last night, a team was finally able to win a game in regulation. The Bruins — and stone-wall goalie Tuukka Rask — shut out the high-octane Blackhawks offense, 2-0, to take a 2-1 series lead.
Rask has been nearly unbeatable in the last two round of the playoffs. He has earned three shutouts, allowed six goals in seven games, an otherworldly .973 save percentage, and a suffocating 1.00 goals against average. With all due respect to Dominic Hasek, hockey might have a new Dominator.
At the very least, the Bruins and their fans have a playoff savior — a sentiment captured during last night's game in an instantly-iconic shot.
If the Bruins win the Stanley Cup, should Rask be the MVP? Is he an elite goalie, or is he just on fire in the playoffs? Let us know in the comments!
