The U.S. U-19 men's national team has endured mixed results during the 2016 COTIF tournament in Spain, but the most impressive of the bunch came over the weekend, and it was delivered in impressive fashion.

Brandon Vazquez's 51st-minute free kick from some 30 yards out stunned the host nation and resulted in a valuable 1-0 win to the Americans, which are coached by former U.S. goalkeeping great Brad Friedel. The win was part of an opening three-game stretch for the U-19s in Spain, which started with a 2-0 loss to Venezuela and was followed by a 1-0 win over Mauritania. The U-19s conclude group play in Spain against Bahrain on Monday, with a chance to finish second in their group and advance to the semifinals.

Spain and Argentina have already punched their tickets to the final four.
