Clint Dempsey scored his 50th career goal with the United States men’s national team on Tuesday night, doing so against Costa Rica in their Copa America Centenario Group A match.

The goal came in the ninth minute, with Dempsey scoring on a penalty kick to give the U.S. a 1–0 lead.

Dempsey’s first goal for the U.S. also came in Chicago, back in 2005 against England. The 33-year-old Dempsey now joins Landon Donovan as the only U.S. men’s national team players with 50 career goals. Donovan scored 57 during his illustrious career.
