Lightning captain Steven Stamkos will undergo surgery to remove a blood clot in his arm and miss the next one to three months, general manager Steve Yzerman announced on Saturday. He is expected to make a full recovery.
The 26-year-old was held out of Saturday’s game against the Devils due to what the team initially called an “upper body injury.”
Stamkos has 36 goals and 64 points in 77 games this season.
