Penguins center Evgeni Malkin will miss the next six to eight weeks with an upper-body injury, the team announced on Saturday.
Malkin was injured in the second period of the Penguins’ 3–2 win over the Blue Jackets on Friday after a hit from Dalton Prout to his left side. He had recorded two assists in nine minutes on the ice before leaving.
The 29-year-old is second on the team with 27 goals and 58 points in 57 games.
Pittsburgh visits the Rangers on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. ET.
