There is “no chance” the Hurricanes relocate to Quebec City, NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly told Mario Roy, the leader a group looking to bring the NHL back to Quebec.
Rumors that the Hurricanes could be moving to Quebec have picked up in recent weeks. Earlier this month, Daly shot down rumors that Quebec was out of the running for an expansion team.
An NHL-sized arena opened in Quebec this fall and Montreal-based telecom company Quebecor has applied to bring an expansion franchise to the arena.

Quebec City has been without an NHL team since the Nordiques moved to Denver and became the Colorado Avalanche in 1995.
