Hockey legend Gordie Howe’s funeral and visitation will be open to the public, the Detroit Red Wings announced Saturday.
Howe, known as “Mr. Hockey,” died at the age of 88 on Friday.
His visitation will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, home to the Red Wings, Howe’s longtime team. The start and end times are scheduled to honor Howe’s No. 9 jersey.
Howe’s funeral is scheduled for Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit.
Howe scored 801 goals and 1,850 points across a career that ran from 1946 to 1980.
