Veteran defensive end Justin Tuck will sign a one-day contract in order to retire with the New York Giants, the team announced Wednesday.
The event will take place on Friday at 2 p.m. ET and can be watched live on Giants.com.
Tuck announced his retirement in February, later adding that he was “absolutely” going to retire as a Giant. However, Tuck could not officially sign a contract with New York until the start of the new league year.
Tuck was selected by the Giants in the third round of the 2005 NFL draft. He spent nine seasons in New York before playing the last two seasons with the Oakland Raiders. The defensive end sustained a season-ending torn pectoral injury in Week 5 of the 2015 season.
Over the course of his career, Tuck recorded 510 combined tackles, 66.5 sacks and 22 forced fumbles.
