Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul has re-signed with the Giants on a one-year deal, the team announced Wednesday.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Pierre-Paul’s contract is worth $10.5 million.
Pierre-Paul, 27, sustained serious hand injuries from a fireworks incident last July, resulting in the amputation of his right index finger.
Pierre-Paul returned to the field for the Giants in October after a lengthy standoff over the status of his hand. He played in eight games in 2015, recording one sack and 26 total tackles. In six NFL seasons, all spent with the Giants, Pierre-Paul has recorded 312 tackles and 43 sacks.
A first round selection by New York in the 2010 draft out of South Florida, Pierre-Paul was a 2011 first team All-Pro selection and a two-time Pro Bowl honoree.
