Rookie quarterback Jared Goff will make his first career start on Sunday against the Dolphins, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports.
Goff, the No. 1 pick in this year’s draft, has sat behind Case Keenum for the first nine games of the season. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday that the Rams were considering starting Goff against Miami, depending on Keenum’s performance against the Jets.
The Rams beat the Jets 9–6 with Keenum throwing for 165 yards. After the game, head coach Jeff Fisher declined to blame Keenum for the team’s offensive struggles and said he was still hesitant to turn to Goff.
Goff threw for 4,714 yards and 43 touchdowns in his final season at Cal.
