Cavaliers forward Kevin Love left Sunday’s NBA Finals Game 2 against the Warriors with a possible concussion, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst. The team announced that he would not return to the game, and that he will enter the league’s protocol.
Love caught a Harrison Barnes forearm to the back of the head during the second quarter and immediately went down holding his head. After a Cleveland timeout, he went back onto the floor and remained in the game until the end of the quarter.
Love then removed himself from the game during the third. Golden State went on to win 110–77 to take a 2–0 series lead.
The Cavaliers said Love did not experience any concussion symptoms during the first half or halftime, which is why he continued to play and was not taken in for evaluation.
Love finished with five points, two rebounds and two assists in 21 minutes.
Game 3 will be Wednesday in Cleveland at 9 p.m. ET.
