The Chicago Cubs have traded prospect Dan Vogelbach to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for left-handed pitcher Mike Montgomery, according to multiple reports.

The deal was first reported by Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports.

The 23-year-old Vogelbach is hitting hitting .318 with 16 home runs, 64 RBI and a .972 OPS in 89 games for the Triple A Iowa Cubs. The Mariners could use him at first base or as the designated hitter in their lineup. He has yet to make his MLB debut.

Montgomery has appeared in 32 games for Seattle and has a 2.34 ERA with 54 strikeouts and a 1.09 WHIP in 50 1/3 innings pitched. Montgomery started his last two games for the Mariners and made 30 appearances as a reliever. Montgomery, a lefthander, will be under team control through 2021.
