The Knicks started an incredibly fun FIFA tournament this week, complete with upsets, a real championship belt and tons of buffoonery.
Entering the final match on Wednesday, the Final Four was all but set. Kevin Seraphin had upset top-seeded Sasha Vujacic, Lou Amundson had won handily and Derrick Williams snuck by his first-round opponent. One more spot was left to be claimed by the smack-talking Kristaps Porzingis, or the team newcomer Tony Wroten.
Well, Porzingis’s month went from bad to worse. After losing to Vujacic in a friendly last Saturday, he was beaten down by Wroten, 6–2. Here’s how it went, thanks to Kevin Seraphin’s Snapchat.
What followed the win was a lively celebration, led by FIFA fan and part-time imaginary sideline reporter Carmelo Anthony.
Seraphin caught up with Porzingis, who seemed to be taking his L like a champ.
Better luck next tournament, Kristaps. Can’t wait for that Wroten-Seraphin matchup. Seraphin can taste the belt.
Anyone want to play FIFA?
