Jake definitely has a bounce in his step. He is a four-time Junior Olympic National Trampoline champion, and in December 2008, he won a silver medal at the Pan American championships in the 11- to 12-year-old division. He moved up to the junior elite level last year. At the 2009 World Age Group Trampoline and Tumbling Championships, Jake took on competitors of all ages, including teens and adults, and still finished 23rd in individual trampoline. He may be younger than most of his fellow trampoliners, but he is no less serious. “I want to make [my opponents] do better because [they know] I’m coming behind them,” he says. “Then I want to beat them.”
