What to Watch: Weekend Baseball

I can’t lie, with football season rapidly approaching, things at SI Kids have been really NFL-oriented over the last week. But have no fear! There is a ton of great baseball left to watch and, as always, the Brain is here to tell you about it…

Tonight: Philadelphia Phillies at San Francisco Giants
The world champs made a big time trade when they sent a bunch of minor leaguers to Cleveland for reigning AL Cy Young winner Cliff Lee. Lee is 2-0 with a 1.20 ERA against the Giants, but they recently added infielder Freddy Sanchez, to improve their offense. See how these two fare with their new teams tonight.

Saturday: Los Angeles Dodgers at Atlanta Braves
The Dodgers lost a season-high four games in a row this week. They’ll try to get back to their winning ways in Atlanta, but they’ll have to go through former Dodger Derek Lowe to do it. Lowe faced the Red Sox, another of his former teams, earlier this season and lost. Can he do better against the NL’s best?

Sunday: New York Yankees at Chicago White Sox
CC Sabathia has been good this season, but you can bet the Yankees wanted more than 10 wins so far from their big ace. He’ll be called upon to wrap up the Yankees’ trip to Chicago but he’ll have to go through Mr. Perfect, Mark Buehrle, to do it. Can CC take this one to 11?
