How many of you guys knew that the Oreo Double-Stuff Racing League – first made popular by the battling Mannings, Peyton and Eli – was actually a real league? I sure didn’t. At least, I didn’t until I got a package in the mail this morning.

See that box? Inside it, the DSRL announced a partnership with AstroTurf. As part of the deal, the synthetic grass is now THE official turf for all Double-Stuff-related events. That means…

Actually… I have no idea what that means.

If I had to guess… I think this is part of a light-hearted promotional ploy by the DSRL (I wouldn't be surprised if there were a follow-up commercial coming soon), designed to generate interest in an upcoming real-life Oreo-related event. On April 24th, two groups of finalists will compete in Florida for the title of fastest Oreo “twister, licker, dunker.” The Mannings and the Williams sisters will be on hand to cheer for all the competitors, and the winner will walk away with away with a $10,000 prize! Cool, no? Well, if not for this funny (if not a bit weird) AstroTurf package, I would have never known. Pretty clever way to get the word out, if you ask me.
