Alexandria is soaring to new heights. The ninth-grader won a gold medal in the high jump (youth girls’ division) at the 2011 AAU Junior Olympics. Alexandria’s winning leap of 5' 8" was a half inch shy of the national record in her age group. She had been recovering from a hip injury prior to competition, but says, “I knew I just had to work through it and not give up. I was determined to win.”
Alexis, a defenseman, had 20 goals and 16 assists this season for her club hockey team. She also scored 15 goals in seven games as a midfielder for her lacrosse team in 2011. Her athleticism doesn’t stop there. She runs the 50-yard dash in eight seconds and reaches 6' 1" in the long jump.
This season Cooper led his Avon Lake team to a 25–5 record and its first Lake Erie Basketball League championship since the league was founded 15 years ago. A 5' 8" shooting guard, he scored 21 or more points in each of the final three games of the tournament.
Daton is a two-time junior high state champion and a national champion in freestyle and Greco-Roman. Last season he was ranked Number 1 in his age group (84-pound weight class). Daton also plays running back and helped his football team to an 8–0 record last season.
