Tim Duncan and LeBron James Reach Big Milestones

The 2015 NBA season is barely a week old, and we're already seeing records fall.

The first came Sunday night. the San Antonio Spurs' Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker became the winningest trio in NBA history after the Spurs defeated the Boston Celtics, 95-87. Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker have won 541 regular season games together — a testament to their longevity as players and the steadiness of the Spurs organization.

Duncan added a second career achievement last night in a 94-84 victory over the New York Knicks. The win was his 954th of his career, which sets a new NBA record. In his 19th season, Duncan is now 954-381 lifetime — with every game played in a Spurs jersey. Hall of Fame point guard John Stockton had been the previous owner of the mark with a 953-551 career record (all with the Utah Jazz).

But while San Antonio fans cheered Ducan's durability, Cleveland celebrated LeBron James' prodigious output.

On Monday, James put up 22 points (along with 11 assist and nine rebounds) in a 107-100 W against the Philadelphia 76ers. Two of those points, scored on a fourth-quarter dunk, gave the 30-year-old LeBron 25,000 for his career. He's the youngest player in NBA history to reach the milestone. (James is the 20th player overall to join the 25K points club.) Kobe Bryant had been the youngest player to hit 25,000 points, which he did as a 31-year-old.

"It's a heck of an accomplishment for individually," James said. "It's special. I'm happy that I'm able to represent my family and my fans to the utmost respect, and I just try to come out and play the game at a high level every night."
