Pitchers and catchers are only a few shorts weeks away from reporting to spring training, but the first whiff of the new baseball season is already here. The 2012 Topps Baseball Series 1 card set is invading a hobby shop near you and there are a lot of surprises this year, from golden tickets to rally squirrels.
Over the last ten years, Super Bowl Media Day has gone from a day dedicated to gathering information about the two teams competing in the big game to a day of reporters dressing up like brides and asking quarterbacks to marry them. (Um, can we just get to the game please?) It’s silly and it’s fun and it’s usually a waste of time.

Conference Championship weekend is here. Two trips to the Super Bowl are on the line. And yet, the Wiz is nowhere to be seen. According to an e-mail he sent me this morning, he’s sick. (I can just picture it now: the Wiz sitting at home on the couch in his customized Troy Polamalu Snuggie, blowing his nose while watching his Super Bowl XLIII DVD and remembering the good times. Oh well, get well soon, buddy!) But enough about the Wiz, we’ve got two playoff games to break down. Here we go.

You better watch the rest of the NFL playoffs while doing a handstand. Upsets from lower seeds (the Giants) and higher seeds (I didn’t see too many people predicting the Niners could beat the Saints in a shootout) have turned these playoffs upside down. We’re just one week away from setting up the Super Bowl. Let’s take a look at how we got here.
