A few days ago, Kevin Durant made an insane three-pointer, was fouled, and hit a free to help send Game 2 of the Thunder's series against the Grizzlies into OT. (OKC ultimately lost, but Durant's play was still huge.)
Well. Durant's teammate Russell Westbrook stole some of his, um, thunder last night, hitting his own four-point play under really tough conditions.
With 29 seconds to go in Game 3, Memphis led, 85-81, as Westbrook entered the Grizzlies zone. He made a move above the arc, dribbled to the center of the court, and went up for a desperation three. He was fouled as he let the ball go, fell to the court, and SWISH!
Westbrook's clutch play (and the free throw after it) sent the game into OT. But like with Durant's big-time effort, Westbrook's heroics were wasted. The Thunder lost, 98-95, and they're now down 2-1 in the series. Can't wait 'til Game 4 to see which OKC player comes up big in the final seconds!
