Entering this season, the Oregon Ducks were thinking national championship. Well, two losses have a way of derailing such lofty goals. The Ducks will still play in a bowl — the decidedly not-BCS National Championship Alamo Bowl on December 30 — and when they do, they'll hit the field in some new jerseys.
Oregon fans are no strangers to seeing their team in a bunch of different looks. But the Nike Pro Combat Mach Speed uniform is being billed as "the most innovative Nike Pro Combat system of dress to date." The uniforms are made with the latest lightweight fabrics to give players max speed and ventilation. The jerseys also use some new heavy-duty panels to keep pads in place, Nike Chain Maille 2.0 mesh, and laser-perforated mesh panels. Similar technology is found in the pants. There are also some new design elements, like the Duck wing pattern will now cover the whole shoulder and arm panel.
Clearly, if the Ducks can't be national champions they're going to dominate the competition in the gear department. Check out a few looks at Oregon's Alamo Bowl uniforms:
