This year’s NBA season has been moving faster than a LeBron James and Dwyane Wade fast break. Case in point: most teams haven’t even played 25 games yet and the All-Star starters have already been announced. While a lot of the names remain the same, the uniforms change every year and we’ve got your first look at the new unis.
The Orlando Magic’s Dwight Howard landed the most votes overall and will start at center for the Eastern Conference. The game is being played in Dwight’s home arena in Orlando this year, so don’t be shocked if the Magic big man puts up monster numbers. Kobe Bryant led all vote getters in the West and landed his record-tying 14th consecutive All-Star start.
The East’s backcourt consists of Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose and Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade. The two forwards will be Wade’s Heat teammate LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, making his first All-Star appearance as an Eastern Conference representative.
The West has lots of love for L.A. Two Clippers, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, will be starting alongside two Lakers, Bryant and Andrew Bynum. Kevin Durant, the league’s leading scorer the past two years, will round out the Western Conference line-up.
We’ll have lots more coverage of the All-Star festivities as we get closer to the league’s showcase weekend. For now, enjoy the pics and let me know what you think of this year’s uniforms in the comments below!
