If you find yourself stuck inside this weekend, these are the games you should be tuning into...
MLB Playoffs
Friday night’s game between the Angels and Yankees features two aces. John Lackey vs. CC Sabathia would be a great game during the regular season. If rain doesn’t wash this one away, it should be even better now that the American League pennant is on the line. (Friday, 7:57 ET on FOX)
Not to be outdone, Sunday’s match-up between the Dodgers and Phillies should be great too. Cliff Lee has been on the top of his post-season game, but he’ll face Hiroki Kuroda, who was the only Dodger pitcher to beat the Phils in last year’s NLCS. (Sunday, 8:07 ET on TBS)
New York Giants at New Orleans Saints
Eli Manning returns to his hometown of New Orleans to face the Saints in a battle of two undefeated teams that is not to be missed. The pressure will be on the Giants QB to play through the his foot injury, but he’ll need a solid day from his running backs because the Saints D is tough against the pass. Meanwhile, Drew Brees and Company could get a big day from Reggie Bush, who rushed for 126 yards against the G-Men in 2006. (Sunday, 1:00 ET on FOX)
NASCAR at Lowe’s Motor Speedway
Jimmie Johnson has five wins at Lowe’s Motor Speedway and a 12-point lead in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. While most of the contenders have fallen well out of contention, there is still time for either Mark Martin or Jeff Gordon to take over. They’ll have to keep on eye on Kasey Kahne. He may be way down in the standings, but he excels in Charlotte (11 career wins on the track). (Saturday, 7:00 ET on ABC)
Oklahoma Sooners vs. Texas Longhorns, USC Trojans at Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Sam Bradford and the Sooners face a must-win game against undefeated Texas, which has high hopes for a championship season under QB Colt McCoy. A few hours later, the Fighting Irish will try to knock out USC, something they haven’t been able to do in the last seven years. (Saturday, Oklahoma-Texas noon ET on ABC, USC-Notre Dame 3:30 ET on NBC)
