After a strong freshman year in 2010--11, McDermott became a national player of the year candidate last season and could win the honor this year. He is one of the country's best three-point shooters (48.8% through January 25). And at 6' 8", he is also big enough to score and rebound in the post. On January 11, McDermott had one of the season's best individual performances when he made 15 of 19 shots to score 39 points while grabbing 10 rebounds against Missouri State. With McDermott, the Bluejays are the nation's best shooting team, so the first Final Four appearance in school history is a possibility.
