This latest version of The Natural didn't exactly come from nowhere. But it's one thing to have the hype, the tools and the initial splash of rising fast through the system and banging a home run in your first MLB plate appearance. It's quite another to exceed expectations every step of the way. Heyward is doing exactly that. Even after his first prolonged slump of his big-league career (a whopping 10 games), the 20-year-old Heyward responded with even bigger numbers, and as of May 24th he led the Braves in home runs and RBI and was second in total bases and batting average.
