The NCAA tournament increased to 64 teams back in 1985. Twenty five years later, we provide 25 five memorable moments since the expansion.
The first 64-team tournament provided one of the greatest upsets in sports history. Rollie Massimino's Villanova team entered the national title game as a heavy underdog to Patrick Ewing and the Hoyas. But the Wildcats concluded their Cinderella story with an otherworldly shooting performance, converting 78.6 percent from the field. To this day, the eighth-seeded Cats remain the lowest seed ever to win an NCAA tournament.
