Astros Set to Trade Oswalt to Phillies 13

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- A person with knowledge of the deal says Houston ace Roy Oswalt has agreed to waive his no-trade clause and accept a swap to the Philadelphia Phillies.

The person aware of the trade told The Associated Press that Oswalt must first pass a physical.

Houston is to get pitcher J.A. Happ and at least two prospects from the Phillies.

The two-time NL champion Phillies went into Thursday with a seven-game winning streak. They began the day 3½ games behind Atlanta in the NL East.

he is a funny pitcher in my video game

YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH the Phils have been looking for a new starter that is actually good and the Astros made the worst trade in history!!!! GO PHILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

phil mickelson wasn't traded.who blocks lightning?go lebron

Well, now we can officially say that the Phillies are WS contenders. My only question: WHY IN THE WORLD DID WE TRADE CLIFF LEE!? How does this rotation sound:

1. Roy Halladay
2. Cliff Lee
3. Roy Oswalt
4. Cole Hamels
5. Joe Blanton

Probably the best in baseball, right? Great trade today, Ruben Amaro, but if we kept Lee, we would DEFINITELY have the best rotation in baseball. That being said, the Phils can definitely win it all this year.

I'm sorry, but the Yanks are too good to be beaten. Look:
1. Curtis Granderson
2. A-Rod
3. Derek Jeter
4. Andy Pettite
5. Jorge Posada
6. Mariano Rivera
7. AJ Burnett
Who is going to beat that? Only one team possible. Who? The Cardinals.

1. Albert Pujols
2. Yadier Molina
3. Matt Holliday
4. Jason Motte
5. Adam Wainright
6. Brendan Ryan

Now that might win!

He's going to be a free agent next year so might as well try and get something out of him because I doubt he would've re-signed with the Astros.

Exactly. And I think he will have a better chance winning a championship with the Phillies. Even though I'm a Yankee fan... We'll crush them again...haha

Well he might or not or might or not or might. LLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

no he's not. he had a contract through next year and a club option for 2012.

Why trade Oswalt really?

There are multiple reasons to trade Oswalt.
Oswalt is one of the best pitchers on the market, The Astroes could get alot in return for Oswalt from a team who need a good pitcher for their playoff run.
Oswalt is in the final year of his contract, and he had already said that he doesnt want to return to the Astros. Since he wasnt coming back, the Astros may as well get something in return.
Good move by the Astros, and an even better pick up by the Phillies. They should go deep into the playoffs.

He said he wanted to leave.

idk
