Ranking: 2 (USA), 5 (Overall)

Second-ranked American Ted Ligety is ranked fifth in the world, due in part to his gold medal win in downhill and slalom in the 2006 Olympics, as well as his first place finish in giant slalom in the 2008 World Cup. He scored an astounding 485 points in the giant slalom, the most since 2003.
